Thomas Barrack: We congratulate Syria on a week brimming with "historic achievements"

U.S. Presidential Special Envoy to Syria and Iraq, Thomas Barrack, congratulated Syria on the historic achievements accomplished last week. Barrack said in a post on his official account on the “X” platform following his meeting with the Syrian Chargé d’Affaires in Washington, Muhammad Qanatri: “A wonderful meeting with the Syrian Chargé d’Affaires in Washington,” adding, “We congratulate Syria on a week filled with historic achievements.”

Last Monday, the United States removed Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Also, on the previous Tuesday, Mazlum Abdi announced the end of the mission of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and their dissolution as an independent military force, following the completion of their integration into the official Syrian Army. He emphasized that this step comes within the framework of transitioning to a new phase characterized by peace, stability, and the building of a new Syria.
