Patient accused of stealing an iPhone entered into Al-Sabah Hospital's medical notes

Ahmad Khameesati, a Kuwaiti national, suspects that his iPhone 14 was stolen while he was at Al-Sabah Hospital. He expressed concern that if the phone is taken out of the country and later turned on, it could allow unauthorized access to the photos, data, and personal information stored on it.

According to the complainant’s statement, he went to Al-Sabah Hospital at around 12:30 p.m. after experiencing severe discomfort following dinner. A doctor recommended admitting him to the observation room to continue treatment. He said he was surprised to find his phone missing while in the observation room and accused another person present in the room of stealing it.

A theft case was filed and referred to the Criminal Investigation Department to complete inquiries and legal procedures, with a view to summoning the accused, verifying the validity of the allegations, and uncovering the circumstances of the incident.

A security source noted that modern technologies have facilitated tracking stolen phones and determining their locations, as well as identifying their users, which helps investigators quickly locate suspects and recover the stolen devices.
