Alaa Khalifa: In line with the Ministry of Education’s commitment to making productive use of students’ time during the summer break, the evening summer clubs continue to operate under the directives of Minister of Education Eng. Syed Jalal Al-Tabatabai, offering students a space that blends recreation, learning, and skill development in a safe and stimulating educational environment. This initiative is not limited to students in general education; it extends to students with special needs, who benefit from programs and activities tailored to their abilities and requirements.
During a visit by Al-Anbaa to the Intellectual Disabilities Club, the newspaper documented various activities and events that combine movement, interaction, training, and skill development, with a clear focus on providing a supportive environment that enables students to express their abilities, acquire new experiences, enhance their social integration, and make the most of their leisure time during the summer vacation.
At the outset, Saud Al-Khalifa, principal of the Boys’ Intellectual Disabilities School and head of the evening summer club for students with special needs, stated that, under the directives of Minister of Education Eng. Syed Jalal Al-Tabatabai, the evening summer clubs for the Ministry’s students were opened during the summer break, including the club specifically for students from special education schools. He expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the minister for his dedication to providing specialized summer programs for students in special education schools, noting that the club offers students the opportunity to channel their energy and gain diverse experiences through educational, recreational, and sports activities that take their needs into account.
Al-Khalifa stated that the club is among the summer clubs launched by the Ministry of Education under the directives of Minister of Education Eng. Syed Jalal Al-Tabatabai, with the aim of providing students with special needs the opportunity to make productive use of their free time in a safe educational environment that contributes to the development of their physical, artistic, and social skills. He added that the activities range between sports, cultural, artistic, and recreational programs, noting that the club includes approximately 45 students. Al-Khalifa pointed out that the club operates throughout the week from Sunday to Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., commending the strong turnout of students attending and participating in the club, and expressing his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the supervising teachers.
Al-Anbaa also met with several students, learning about the activities they engage in and their impressions of the club’s programs. Student Turki Al-Shammari expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Minister of Education Eng. Syed Jalal Al-Tabatabai for his gracious directives to continue the evening summer clubs for the ministry’s students. He also thanked the esteemed teachers supervising the club, led by Club President Saud Al-Khalifa. Al-Shammari noted that he benefited greatly from the club, spending his summer vacation on useful activities that brought him personal benefit and value.
For his part, student Yassin Mohammed said he was very happy to participate in the evening summer club, as it allows him to meet his friends daily and engage with them in wonderful sports and social activities. He emphasized that he benefited significantly from his presence at the club, expressing hope that such clubs will continue in future summer vacations.
In a similar vein, student Ziad Hassan said he greatly enjoys the evening summer club, playing football and basketball with his peers and spending quality time at the club, which enables them to make productive use of their free time.
Meanwhile, student Ali Jafar clarified that he benefited greatly from the activities offered by the evening summer club, particularly the sports activities, including football, basketball, and table tennis. He extended his sincere thanks to the club president and all the supervising teachers for their dedicated efforts with the students throughout the duration of the evening summer club.
