Al-Mushaan: Uniting efforts in defense of the Palestinian cause

Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Hamad Al-Mashaan participated in the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, held at the OIC Secretariat General headquarters in Jeddah.

In his statement on behalf of Kuwait during the session, Al-Mashaan reaffirmed Kuwait’s historic, principled, and steadfast position on the Palestinian issue, as well as its support for the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He emphasized the importance of the full implementation of the comprehensive peace plan for the Gaza Strip, in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025). He also reiterated Kuwait’s condemnation of settlement activities and attacks by extremist settlers, and its rejection of all measures aimed at altering the historical and legal status quo in the city of Jerusalem, calling for the unification of Islamic efforts and positions to defend the Palestinian cause and Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem).

On another note, Ambassador Hamad Al-Mashaan met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Gambians Abroad of the friendly Republic of The Gambia, Sirring Modou Njie, on the sidelines of the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, held at the OIC Secretariat General headquarters in Jeddah, to discuss developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.

During the meeting, the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries were reviewed, and ways to enhance and develop them across various fields were discussed.
