Kuwait welcomes announcement of SDF's integration into Syrian military institutions
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s welcome for the announcement of the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the military institutions of the sister Arab Republic of Syria, a move that enhances Syria’s security, stability, and territorial integrity. The Ministry reaffirmed in a statement Kuwait’s steadfast support for the steps taken by the government of the Arab Republic of Syria to realize the aspirations of the Syrian people, strengthen national unity, and continue the path of reconstruction and development. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed Kuwait’s sympathy with the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan following a fire at a hospital in the capital, Islamabad, which resulted in the deaths of several newborn infants.
In its statement, the Ministry conveyed Kuwait’s deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the government and people of the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as well as to the families of the victims.
On another note, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Israeli occupation authorities’ incursion into the Qalandia vocational training center, affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), in occupied East Jerusalem, in a blatant violation of international law. The Ministry reiterated its call on the international community and the Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities in halting Israeli occupation violations and holding perpetrators accountable, emphasizing the importance of providing adequate protection for facilities belonging to international organizations and their staff, enabling them to carry out their humanitarian mandates. The Ministry also reaffirmed Kuwait’s full support for UNRWA, based on its firm and supportive stance regarding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among which is the establishment of their independent state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
