Ministry of Islamic Affairs showcases Kuwaiti experiences and initiatives at a meeting with the GCC Secretariat General in Riyadh

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs reviewed Kuwaiti experiences and initiatives at the 11th meeting of Deputy Ministers responsible for Islamic and Waqf affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ministry stated in a press release that Acting Deputy Minister Dr. M. Sulaiman Al-Suwailim attended the meeting, alongside representatives from the General Secretariat for Waqf Affairs. It clarified that the meeting discussed several agenda items, including the exchange of scientific research and experiences in the field of Islamic affairs, the GCC Waqf Week, and various initiatives and proposals aimed at developing Islamic and Waqf work and enhancing cooperation among GCC member states. The ministry noted that the meeting reviewed proposals from the Kuwaiti General Secretariat for Waqf Affairs, which included the introduction of a national indicator for the societal impact of Waqf, the “Mafaz” competition to raise awareness about Waqf, charitable work, and volunteering, as well as discussions of several proposals and experiences presented by member states.
