Cairo – Kholoud Abu al-Majd: Author and producer Madhat Adel has completed writing the script for his new theatrical project, “Halim… The Age of Romance.” Preparations are underway for the performance, which will be presented next March using high-end technologies and at a very high cost that exceeds that of the “Umm Kulthum” play. A large number of new and young talents will be selected to perform in the new production, which is scheduled to be staged at the City of Arts and Culture theater in the new capital.
Adel revealed at a press conference that his new theatrical project, “Halim… The Age of Romance,” revolves around the autobiography of the late nightingale Abdel Halim Hafez. The play will focus on the era of romance in his life, the silk handkerchief, and the handwritten replies.
Adel noted that the nightingale was closely connected to the people, personally responding to audience letters and engaging with orphans, among other noble acts. He emphasized that the performance is presented through an artistic vision, clarifying that it is not a documentary film about the nightingale, and that the play does not delve into his personal life.
