Man City to visit Crystal Palace in the Premier League

Selhurst Park will host a highly anticipated Premier League clash between Crystal Palace and visiting Manchester City today. City are aiming for a second consecutive Premier League victory after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bournemouth in the opening round. Following mixed results at the start of the season, Crystal Palace are looking to exploit the noisy atmosphere of their home ground to disrupt Manchester City’s rhythm and secure their first points of the campaign.

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca said that new Moroccan signing Ayoub Abdellaoui will be ready to face Crystal City today. The Moroccan international joined City from Lille yesterday in a five-year contract after delivering impressive performances in Ligue 1 and at the recent World Cup.

Tomorrow, Liverpool will face Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth will take on Everton, Coventry City will play Hull City, and Tottenham will meet Newcastle United.

In the EFL Cup, Brazilian Savio scored on his debut for Tottenham during a comfortable 5-1 win over second-tier Championship side Charlton, sending the London club through to the third round to face Liverpool. In other matches, Newcastle beat second-tier Championship side West Bromwich Albion 3-2, and Everton defeated Championship side Preston North End 4-0. The draw for the third round was made following yesterday’s matches. Tottenham will visit Liverpool, while Manchester United will face Brighton. League champions Arsenal will travel to Ipswich Town, and reigning EFL Cup holders Manchester City will host Norwich City. Third-round ties will be played over the two weeks beginning on September 7 and 14.
