Kuwait and Pakistan Sign Defense and Joint Military Cooperation Agreement

Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali met with his Pakistani counterpart, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in Islamabad during his official visit to the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where he was accorded a formal military welcome ceremony.

The meeting reviewed Kuwait-Pakistan relations and explored prospects for close cooperation in the military and defense sectors. The two sides discussed recent regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest, as well as efforts undertaken to support security and stability in the region.

The visit also saw the signing of a Defense and Joint Military Cooperation Agreement between Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense and Pakistan’s Ministry of Defense. The agreement was signed on behalf of the State of Kuwait by Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali, and on behalf of the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan by Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in the presence of Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Khaled Al-Sharhan, and Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Nasser Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi.

The signing of this agreement marks an important milestone in the military and defense cooperation between the two countries, as it provides a supportive framework for enhancing operational coordination, exchanging expertise, and raising the readiness and integration levels of the armed forces, thereby serving shared interests and contributing to regional security and stability.
