Spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Prime Minister arrives in Tehran tomorrow to discuss restoring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to its pre-February 28 status

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Dr. Majid Al-Ansari, stated that Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, will arrive in Tehran tomorrow, Thursday, to meet with several officials there to discuss ways to de-escalate tensions and create favorable conditions for dialogue.

Al-Ansari added in a post on his X account that the visit stems from Qatar’s firm stance that the diplomatic track is the best means to resolve disputes and enhance security and stability in the region. He clarified that the talks will address freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the necessity of restoring it to its pre-February 28 status.
