2,627 violations for trucks in "Al-Sabih" and King Fahd Road

Under the supervision and directives of the Head of the Operations and Traffic Sector, Brigadier General Ahmed Fahad Al-Azmi, and the leadership of the Director General of the General Directorate of Traffic, Brigadier General Rashid Hamoud Al-Hajri, the General Directorate of Traffic, represented by the Highways Department, carried out an intensive supervisory traffic campaign targeting trucks on the Seventh Ring Road and King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Road. This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance road safety, raise compliance with traffic rules and regulations, and curb violations that could endanger road users.

The campaign, conducted during the current week, resulted in the detection of 2,627 traffic violations, which varied between infractions related to driving rules and those linked to safety and durability requirements for trucks.

The General Directorate of Traffic clarified that 1,386 violations involved failure to stay in the right lane, non-compliance with overtaking rules and conditions, and disregard for road markings. These infractions directly affect traffic flow and increase the likelihood of accidents due to unsafe lane changes or failure to adhere to regulations governing truck movement.

Additionally, the campaign recorded 1,241 violations concerning the safety and durability requirements for trucks, including the absence of rear bumpers, missing reflective strips, uncovered loads, and lack of a spare tire. These requirements aim to enhance safety levels and mitigate risks arising from vehicles that are not properly prepared or whose loads are not adequately secured.

The General Directorate of Traffic emphasized the importance of truck drivers and owners adhering to traffic rules and regulations, and ensuring that their vehicles meet all safety and durability requirements before traveling on the roads.
