His Highness Sent a Written Message to the Prime Minister of Japan on Ways to Enhance Relations and Current Regional Developments

His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, dispatched a written message to the Prime Minister of friendly Japan, Sanae Takaichi, concerning the close historical ties linking the two countries and their friendly peoples, and the means to strengthen and develop these relations, alongside current developments in the region. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber delivered His Highness’s message during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan on Wednesday, as part of his official visit to the Japanese capital, Tokyo.
During the same official visit to Tokyo, Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber also held talks with his Japanese counterpart, Toshimitsu Motegi. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the meeting reviewed the close historical relations between the two friendly countries and their growing development, following the elevation of ties to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership last year. It was further emphasized that the current year marks a prominent milestone in the trajectory of Kuwait-Japan relations, coinciding with the 56th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Ministry added that both sides stressed their commitment to enhancing Kuwait-Japan cooperation across various fields and intensifying coordination and consultation at different levels to serve the shared interests of the two friendly nations. It noted that the meeting also discussed regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, foremost among them developments in the region and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability.
