Half a billion dinars in weekly stock market gains

Kuwait officials reported that the Kuwait Stock Exchange recorded market gains at the close of this week’s trading sessions, totaling 503.36 billion dinars. The market capitalization of listed shares stood at approximately 53.26 billion dinars by the end of the last session on Wednesday, compared to 52.76 billion dinars at the close of last Thursday’s trading. The market was closed on Thursday in observance of the Prophet’s Birthday.

The daily average liquidity during this week’s trading rose to 97.27 million dinars. Liquidity levels surged again, exceeding 100 million dinars in some sessions, reaching a total of 389.09 million dinars over just four trading days following the closure for the Prophet’s Birthday. This contrasts with a daily average liquidity of 94.5 million dinars during last week, which saw total liquidity of 472.59 million dinars across five sessions.

The general market index rose by approximately 76.11 points to reach 8,894.37 points by the close of Wednesday’s trading, compared to 8,818.26 points at the close of last Thursday’s trading.

The market capitalization of companies listed in the First Market increased to 44.056 billion dinars, up from 43.7 billion dinars at the end of last week, representing gains of 347.87 million dinars. Traded liquidity in the First Market amounted to 225.5 million dinars over the four trading sessions of the current week, with a daily average of 56.37 million dinars, compared to 259.6 million dinars during last week’s sessions, which had a daily average of 51.9 million dinars.

The First Market index rose by 63.01 points to reach 9,302.73 points by the close of Wednesday’s trading, compared to 9,239.72 points at the close of last Thursday’s trading. The Main Market achieved capital gains of 158.21 million dinars over the last four sessions, bringing the market capitalization of listed companies to approximately 9.213 billion dinars by the close of Wednesday’s trading, up from 9.056 billion dinars at the close of last Thursday’s trading.

Traded liquidity during this week’s sessions amounted to approximately 163.58 million dinars, compared to 212.978 million dinars during last week. The Main Market index gained approximately 156 points to reach 9,144.67 points by the close of Wednesday’s session, compared to 8,988.42 points at the close of last Thursday’s session.
