Dembele misses out on 'Paris'... for rest!

Paris Saint-Germain announced late the day before yesterday that striker Ousmane Dembélé will take a period of rest in the coming days before resuming training next Monday, meaning he will miss Friday’s Ligue 2 match against Lille. The Parisian club stated in a press release published on its X account that the decision was made “in agreement with the coach and the sporting management.” The 2025 Ballon d’Or winner returned to PSG training two weeks ago, less than a month after the end of the World Cup, which he played in with the French national team. Dembélé came on as a substitute in PSG’s first match of the season, the European Super Cup against English side Aston Villa (2-1), where he provided an assist, and also featured in the Trophée des Champions match against Lens, which his team lost (0-1). During that match, and the subsequent Ligue 1 game against Rennes (2-2), Dembélé missed a scoring opportunity.
