The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the United States’ announcement to remove the Syrian Arab Republic from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. In a statement on Tuesday, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs described this step as a significant development that would support the Syrian government’s efforts to enhance security and stability in Syria, promote reconstruction and recovery, strengthen opportunities for development and investment, and create favorable conditions for Syria’s reintegration into the global financial and economic systems. The ministry praised the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump in supporting Syria and commended the U.S. administration’s initiatives to bolster security, stability, peace, and development in the region. It reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s steadfast and supportive stance toward Syria’s security, stability, unity, and territorial integrity, in line with the aspirations of its people for security and prosperity, and in support of Syria’s active role in its Arab and international surroundings.
