Saudi Cabinet, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, commends the results of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit to France

His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, chaired the Council of Ministers meeting held in Jeddah yesterday.

At the outset of the session, the Council of Ministers commended the state visit undertaken by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to France, and highlighted how his official talks with President Emmanuel Macron underscored the robust historical ties between the two friendly nations and their shared desire to deepen strategic cooperation across various fields. The Council emphasized the commitment to continuing coordination and consultation based on a common vision aimed at establishing stability in the region and the world, grounded in safeguarding national sovereignty, respecting international law, prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions to conflicts, and confronting security threats.

The Council welcomed the outcomes of the first meeting of the Saudi-French Strategic Partnership Council, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman and President Emmanuel Macron. The meeting featured the launch of new initiatives, agreements, and memorandums of understanding in the fields of defense, health, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, and entertainment. Additionally, the roundtable investment meeting saw the announcement of 21 agreements and memorandums of understanding, which will contribute to developing economic partnership between the two countries and opening new horizons for joint cooperation and investment, amid growing bilateral relations and the wide opportunities provided by Saudi Vision 2030.

Subsequently, the Council of Ministers reviewed the overall discussions held over recent days between the Kingdom and several sister and friendly countries, including the messages received by His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and British Prime Minister Andy Burnham.

Following the session, Minister of State for Council of Shura Affairs and Acting Minister of Information, Dr. Issam bin Saad Al-Saeed, stated in a statement to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the Council of Ministers noted the results of the third Strategic Dialogue between the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Japan. The dialogue reaffirmed the commitment to continuing the development of the established bilateral relations and expanding them, by leveraging economic opportunities in both friendly countries, particularly in investment, energy, resources, supply chains, and technology sectors, as well as through the exchange of expertise and capabilities, thereby supporting priorities and achieving common goals.

The Council of Ministers followed developments and trends on both the regional and international stages, and the continuous efforts undertaken by the Kingdom to de-escalate tensions, prevent the recurrence of tensions and conflicts in the region, support comprehensive and sustainable diplomatic solutions, and protect freedom of maritime navigation. Within this framework, the Council stressed the necessity of keeping the Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab straits and all vital waterways open, secure, and free from any threats.

The Council considered that the achievements and successes of the Esports World Cup, in its first and second editions held in Riyadh and its third edition in Paris in 2026, confirm the Kingdom’s ongoing support for this growing sector, which enhances the role of sports and creative fields in fostering communication and rapprochement among peoples and societies within the realms of excellence, competition, and innovation.
