CENTCOM: We allowed more than 40 ships to pass through Iran's blockade to deliver humanitarian aid

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that U.S. forces have rerouted 71 commercial vessels, detained three ships, and boarded two others since the resumption of the naval blockade imposed on Iran’s coasts and ports, while noting that it has simultaneously allowed more than 40 ships to transit the blockade zone to deliver humanitarian aid. In a post on the X platform, CENTCOM stated that U.S. forces aboard the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) remain on high alert and fully prepared, day and night, while enforcing the U.S. blockade on Iran. As of August 24, U.S. Central Command forces had rerouted 71 commercial vessels, detained three ships, and boarded two vessels to verify compliance, while allowing passage to more than 40 ships carrying humanitarian aid.
