Investigation Committee into the Escape of a Suspect from the Country

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, has ordered the immediate formation of an investigative committee to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the illegal escape of a suspect from the country, as well as the flight of another individual who assisted him in escaping during interrogation, in order to take necessary legal action against anyone proven to have facilitated these acts.

The Ministry of Interior announced yesterday that security agencies had apprehended the suspect, who was accused of helping another person leave the country illegally, following intensified search, investigation, and follow-up operations.

The Ministry added that the suspect had previously been detained by border police in connection with a case involving the illegal exit of a person from the country. It noted that the suspect was referred to the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation to complete interrogation procedures, during which he managed to escape.

The Ministry of Interior urged everyone not to harbor, conceal, or assist any wanted or fugitive individual, so as to avoid legal accountability.
