The Turkish Ministry of Trade announced that the value of the country’s exports to member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reached $41.5 billion during the first seven months of this year, representing a 0.8% increase compared to the same period last year.

In a statement, the ministry noted that Turkey aims to strengthen its export presence in OIC member markets in the coming years, as part of a strategy designed to raise the share of OIC countries in Turkey’s total exports from the current 27% to 30% by 2028.

The ministry clarified that the strategy identified 21 countries for the first phase of targeted markets, following an analysis of their economic and trade data. These countries are Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Indonesia, Morocco, Côte d’Ivoire, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Senegal, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Jordan, and the Sultanate of Oman.

The statement highlighted the notable growth in trade relations between Turkey and OIC member states in recent years, with bilateral foreign trade volume rising from $87.6 billion in 2013 to $119.1 billion in 2025—an increase of $31.5 billion, or approximately 36%. Among markets that recorded the largest increases in Turkish exports during the first seven months of this year, Egypt led with a rise of $522.2 million, bringing the value of exports to the country to $2.8 billion.

Libya ranked second, with an increase of $438.5 million, raising Turkish exports to $2.2 billion. Syria followed with an increase of $296.8 million, reaching $2.1 billion, and Jordan came next with a rise of $227.5 million, bringing exports to $1.3 billion.
