As part of its commitment to its corporate social responsibility and sustainability strategy, and its dedication to supporting national initiatives that contribute to enhancing the safety of community members, Bank of Kuwait (Bourkan), in collaboration with the General Fireforce, launched the “Safe Summer with Fireforce” campaign at Al Khoran Mall. The campaign aims to raise awareness among beachgoers and mall visitors about safety and preventive measures during the summer season, and to encourage adherence to guidelines that help reduce accidents and protect lives and property.
This initiative builds on the strategic partnership between Bank of Kuwait (Bourkan) and the General Fireforce, and reflects the synergy between the private and public sectors in implementing community-driven initiatives that support the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035, contributing to the development of a safer and more sustainable society.
On this occasion, Hessa Hussein Al-Najjada, Senior Manager of Media Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Bank of Kuwait (Bourkan), stated: “The ‘Safe Summer with Fireforce’ campaign is an extension of the long-standing partnership between Bank of Kuwait (Bourkan) and the General Fireforce, which has resulted in organizing numerous national initiatives aimed at raising awareness and enhancing community safety. This collaboration reflects our belief in the importance of integrating the roles of state institutions and the private sector in delivering high-quality initiatives that have a tangible and sustainable impact, within the framework of our social responsibility and our commitment to best practices in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).”
Al-Najjada expressed her gratitude to the management of Al Khoran Mall for its cooperation and sponsorship of the initiative, which contributed to promoting public safety awareness alongside financial literacy under the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign, reaching the largest possible number of mall visitors and beachgoers.
For his part, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib, Director of Public Relations and Media at the General Fireforce, stated: “The ‘Safe Summer with Fireforce’ campaign is part of the General Fireforce’s efforts to enhance prevention culture during the summer season, which sees an increase in marine activities and visits to coastal facilities.”
He added: “Believing that adherence to safety procedures is the first line of defense in preventing accidents, we are proud of our partnership with Bank of Kuwait (Bourkan). This collaboration serves as a model of coordination among various entities to reach the widest possible audience with awareness messages.”
The campaign witnessed widespread engagement from visitors of Al Khoran Mall of all ages, as well as beachgoers. Teams from Bank of Kuwait (Bourkan) and the General Fireforce provided practical guidance on marine safety procedures, the importance of complying with safety regulations, and appropriate conduct in emergency situations. Specialists from the General Fireforce also demonstrated the contents of safety kits and how to use them, including fire extinguishers, first aid kits, life jackets, and fire blankets, thereby enhancing beachgoers’ preparedness and ability to handle emergencies.
The campaign also included the distribution of awareness brochures under the “Let’s Be Aware” initiative, aimed at raising financial literacy, highlighting the risks of financial and cyber fraud, and promoting best practices for protecting personal data. This underscores Bank of Kuwait (Bourkan)’s commitment to empowering community members with knowledge and enhancing financial security alongside community safety.
The “Safe Summer with Fireforce” campaign is an extension of Bank of Kuwait (Bourkan)’s approach of launching seasonal awareness programs, following its winter season campaign under the slogan “You Are Our Shield… Your Safety Is Our Priority.” This reaffirms the bank’s continuous commitment to delivering effective initiatives that raise awareness, support national partnerships, enhance community readiness to deal with risks, and contribute to creating a sustainable impact for companies and institutions.
