Citizen to the Central Bank to drive a luxury vehicle at 200 km/h

Kuwait officials referred a citizen to the Central Prison, in accordance with directives from the Ministry of Interior regarding speeding, as a preliminary step toward transferring him to the Traffic Court. This action followed his driving at a speed of 200 km/h on the Sixth Ring Road.

According to a security source, a traffic police campaign using mobile radar detected a vehicle traveling at this excessive speed. A trap was subsequently set for the vehicle, which was a luxury car valued at over 100,000 dinars.

The source added that the driver was notified of his speed limit violation and shown photographic evidence confirming the serious infraction. The Director General of Traffic was then informed and directed to take all necessary legal measures, including impounding the luxury vehicle at the vehicle impoundment yard for two months.

It is worth noting that the penalties for speeding violations are as follows: For expatriates exceeding 150 km/h, a traffic ticket is issued, the vehicle is impounded, and the individual is deported from the country. Citizens face a traffic ticket and vehicle impoundment.

If the speed reaches 170 km/h, citizens are subject to a traffic ticket, precautionary detention, and vehicle impoundment. Expatriates receive a traffic ticket, have their vehicle impounded for two months, and are deported.

If the speed exceeds 200 km/h, measures against citizens escalate to include a traffic ticket, vehicle impoundment, and referral to prison. For expatriates, a traffic ticket is issued, the vehicle is impounded, and deportation is ordered, with the requirement to pay the fine amount before being repatriated to their home country.
