Sold 5 grams of 'Shabu' to an undercover officer; 1,250 grams of the drug found in his room

Kuwait officials: An Asian national was referred to the Public Prosecution on charges of drug trafficking, after authorities seized approximately 1,250 grams of methamphetamine. The suspect was caught red-handed while selling 5 grams of the substance to a confidential informant working with anti-drug officers.

A security source said that intelligence reached anti-drug units about an Asian national known for trafficking methamphetamine, who took extreme precautions to avoid arrest and preferred dealing with compatriots.

The source added that investigators conducted necessary inquiries that confirmed the information, leading them to enlist a confidential informant of the same nationality to contact the suspect and arrange the purchase of 5 grams of methamphetamine.

The suspect agreed to the deal, and the delivery was arranged to take place in front of a fast-food restaurant in the Salmiya area. The suspect arrived and handed over the agreed quantity of drugs before being ambushed by anti-drug officers and arrested red-handed.

The source noted that, after obtaining the necessary authorization from the Public Prosecution, officers proceeded to the suspect’s room in Salmiya to complete search procedures. There, they discovered approximately 1.25 kilograms (about 1,250 grams) of methamphetamine. The seized drugs were secured, and the suspect was referred to the Public Prosecution.
