Al-Watani Concludes Sponsorship of ALT Summer Program

National Bank of Kuwait concluded its sponsorship of the ALT summer program with a special ceremony held at its headquarters to honor participating students and celebrate their achievements and the development of their skills and expertise throughout the program, in line with the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting educational and developmental initiatives aimed at empowering youth.

The program, which was held in two cohorts, targeted middle school students aged 11 to 15, with approximately 60 students participating. Participants underwent a comprehensive educational and training experience that combined the development of personal and leadership skills with practical application, helping to refine their abilities and enhance their readiness for future demands. Over two weeks in each cohort, the program offered a diverse range of educational sessions and interactive workshops designed to develop communication skills, creative thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving, while also instilling values of initiative, responsibility, and self-confidence among participants.

The practical component formed one of the program’s key pillars, as students were given the opportunity to engage directly with the work environment through hands-on training. This contributed to raising their awareness of professional life requirements, strengthening their sense of responsibility and self-reliance, and acquiring early practical experiences that help them understand different work environments and explore their future interests.

Most activities and training sessions were held at the Rafa Nadal Academy, which provided a suitable environment for learning, interaction, and acquiring new skills and experiences. The program also included a field visit to the National Bank of Kuwait’s headquarters, where participants learned about the nature of the banking sector and gained close insight into the bank’s activities, services, corporate culture, and professional values.

Commenting on the occasion, Mohammed Al-Sarraf, Public Relations and Events Expert at National Bank of Kuwait, said: “The success achieved by the ALT summer program highlights the importance of providing high-quality initiatives that offer young people real opportunities to learn, experiment, and acquire life and practical skills at an early stage of their lives. The program served as an effective platform for refining participants’ abilities and developing their skills through a comprehensive experience that combined learning with practical application in an environment that fosters creativity and innovation.”

He added: “We believe that empowering youth begins with investing in their education, developing their capabilities, and providing opportunities that help them discover their potential and build their personalities. From this perspective, we continue to support initiatives that equip future generations with the tools, knowledge, and experiences necessary to prepare them for a more successful and productive future.”

Student Sanaa Al-Qutami said: “I learned during the program the importance of teamwork and how different ideas can integrate to achieve the best results. Group activities also helped me develop leadership skills and a sense of responsibility.”

Abdullah Al-Humaidi noted that “the hands-on training experience was one of the most significant milestones of the program for me, as it gave me the opportunity to closely observe the work environment and how to handle daily tasks and various responsibilities in a realistic manner.”

Lulwah Boudi explained that “the program greatly enhanced my self-confidence, making me more capable of speaking in front of others, expressing my ideas, and participating in discussions and various activities.”

Faisal Al-Sanaa said: “I benefited greatly from the workshops focused on creative thinking and problem-solving, where I learned new approaches to viewing challenges and finding innovative solutions.”
