Kuwait Real Estate Company Holds Training Course for Its Staff

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance institutional performance and develop the work environment, the Commercial Real Estate Company organized a specialized training course titled “Regulating the Conduct of Insiders in Securities Transactions” at its headquarters. The course was conducted by the Development and Learning Department in coordination with the Compliance and Governance Department, and falls under the tenth axis of the Executive Regulations of the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), “Disclosure and Transparency.” This initiative reflects the company’s continuous commitment to developing its human resources to apply best professional practices in accordance with the regulatory directives issued by the CMA.

The course was delivered by Mansour Kamal, Director of Compliance and Governance, and Jaber Maaref, Compliance and Governance Officer, who presented the key topics and recent updates on relevant decisions and circulars, particularly focusing on the role of insiders in accurately and timely disclosing their transactions. They explained the mechanism for using the CMA’s electronic disclosure system, known as “Efsah.”

The session also reviewed the obligations of insiders to adhere to trading restrictions during permitted periods, refrain from trading during blackout periods, and make required disclosures before and after transactions in the company’s shares. Emphasis was placed on the importance of safeguarding the company’s inside information and outlining the measures and procedures the company has implemented to ensure the strict confidentiality of such information, thereby avoiding penalties for the misuse of inside information as stipulated by the CMA.

The course provided an opportunity for participants and attendees to ask questions and raise inquiries to ensure maximum benefit from the session.

It is worth noting that the Commercial Real Estate Company is among the first companies in Kuwait to adopt and implement the concept of corporate governance according to a well-structured and comprehensive methodology aligned with the best standards and practices in this field.
