Lajin faces Al-Awadi in "Sultan Al-Deeb"

Director Mohamed Abdel Salam, helming the Ramadan 2027 drama series “Sultan Al-Deeb,” starring Ahmed Al-Awadi, has settled the rumors regarding the casting of actress Layan Khalifa, known for her role in Amr Diab’s music video “Lola Al-Banat,” in the lead female role. He confirmed that she is indeed part of the cast but will not play the main lead.

In media statements, Abdel Salam said, “Layan Khalifa participates in ‘Sultan Al-Deeb’ in a role that will surprise the audience. She is among the main cast members, but she is not the lead actress. We have not yet finalized a contract for the series’ lead actress.” He added that the series will differ from previous collaborations between him and Ahmed Al-Awadi, noting that it belongs to the social suspense drama genre, and expressed his hope that it will win the audience’s approval upon its release.

Layan Khalifa stars in the series alongside Ahmed Al-Awadi. The production team has not yet finalized the lead actress, and the production company is currently finalizing other contracts in preparation for the start of filming as soon as possible. The series is written by Mahmoud Hamdan and directed by Mohamed Abdel Salam.
