"Authentic Art" Evoked Musical Heritage at "The Avenues"

Bashar Jasim Al-Kandari: As part of the 18th edition of the Summer Cultural Festival, the Al-Fann Al-Aseel ensemble presented a musical concert at The Avenues Mall, drawing a large audience that enthusiastically engaged with the traditional Kuwaiti folk musical styles performed.

The ensemble opened the concert with a diverse selection of group songs that traversed various authentic Kuwaiti art forms and rhythms, evoking the atmosphere of traditional folk musical heritage. These included “Ala Ya Ahl Al-Hawa Wa Azzat Ali” from the Sameri genre, “Ya Nas Dalooni” from the Muqarnas Al-Muthallath, “Al-Obaidi Yaqool” from the Dosari genre, and “Da’ Bil-Salam” from the Bastah.

The repertoire also featured “Ya Markab Al-Hindi” and “Bitroof Lak Mushwar” from Bastah and Al-Sout, “Ban Badr Al-Tamma” from the Tambura genre, “Sha’qani Sha’qani” from the Fresani, and “Sabouha” from Al-Dazzah.

Artist Rashid Al-Muzayen also participated in the concert, performing several songs including “Salem Ya Salem,” “Ah Ya Al-Asmar Ya Zein,” and “Balooti Balwa” from the Tambura genre, concluding his set with “Tadri Wala Ma Tadri” from the Khabiti genre.
