In sync with the new academic year, Google launches new AI tools on its platform

Global internet giant Google has unveiled a new suite of tools to assist students, integrating them into its search engine and its AI platform, Gemini. These tools include AI-generated interactive graphics, 3D simulations, a dedicated study hub, and customized practice tests, among other features.

The launch of these new educational tools coincides with the start of the new academic year and represents Google’s latest efforts to enhance Gemini, the AI assistant that students increasingly rely on for learning and study. This move comes amid intensifying competition with companies such as OpenAI and educational startups like Goethe and Khan Academy, which offer AI-powered learning and training tools.

Students can now create custom tools and simulations to help them understand complex topics through Google Search. To deepen their understanding of a subject, students can ask follow-up questions on more specialized topics, such as identifying the optimal pH levels for citrus fruit growth. In such cases, Google Search’s AI tools will provide an interactive experience specifically designed to answer the query.

Users can now access practice tests directly by searching for any topic, including science, mathematics, humanities, languages, and more. For example, a user can input a prompt such as “Create a quiz using the most common vocabulary words from standardized tests to help me prepare for the SAT,” and the search engine will generate an interactive quiz.
