Video: Smuggling of 500 "Xanax" pills, listed in the "Schedule," intercepted; brought by an Asian via Terminal 5

The General Directorate of Customs, represented by customs officers at Terminal 5 of Kuwait International Airport, thwarted an attempt to smuggle approximately 500 pills suspected to be narcotics and psychoactive substances, which were in the possession of an Asian national. Specifically, a customs inspector suspected a bag belonging to the traveler, and upon searching it, found two oval containers holding a substance suspected to be “Zynam,” listed under the schedule of psychoactive substances, as well as a substance suspected to be ecstasy. The total seized amount amounted to approximately 500 pills. The seized items were secured, and the necessary legal procedures were taken against the suspect, who was referred along with the contraband to the competent authorities. The General Directorate of Customs reaffirms its continued efforts by its officers to counter all attempts to smuggle narcotics and psychoactive substances, and to take legal action against anyone attempting to undermine the country’s security and the safety of society.
