The Blue Team arrives in Dubai, preparing to face Oman

Hadi Al-Anzi: Yesterday afternoon, the delegation of our national senior basketball team arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to compete in the first window of the qualifying rounds for the 2029 FIBA Asia Cup, which will be hosted in Qatar from the 24th to the 31st of this month. The team arrived from the Egyptian capital, Cairo, after a two-week training camp during which they played several friendly matches.

“Blue Court” will face their Omani counterparts in their opening match of the tournament at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. On Thursday evening, they will take on the United Arab Emirates national team, followed by a third match against Nepal. They will conclude their campaign with a clash against Bahrain on the 31st.

The technical staff, led by Greek coach Vasilis Pratsiakos and his assistants Khaled Al-Qallaf and Yahya Al-Bahr, have selected 12 players to represent “Blue Court” in the tournament: Abdulrahman Al-Jumaa, Abdulaziz Al-Humaidi, Hamad Adnan, Ahmed Al-Balushi, Abdulmohsen Al-Mousawi, Omar Jawhar, Ali Al-Hudhaif, Turki Al-Shammari, Youssef Najaf, Khalifa Al-Omani, Abdul Latif Al-Faraj, and Faisal Al-Husseini.
