GCC Secretary-General: Translating the decisions and directives of GCC leaders into tangible results that enhance the progress of joint Gulf cooperation
Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Al-Budaiwi emphasized the importance of continuing to monitor the implementation of the decisions of the 19th Consultative Meeting of the GCC Supreme Council, in a manner that translates the decisions and directives of the Council’s leaders into tangible results, enhancing the trajectory of joint Gulf cooperation and realizing the aspirations of the citizens of the member states.
The General Secretariat stated in a press release that this came during the regular meeting of the High Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of the Decisions of the 19th Consultative Meeting of the GCC Supreme Council, held in the presence of Al-Budaiwi at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.
The release added that the meeting reviewed the latest developments in the committee’s work and the efforts made, in coordination with relevant authorities in member states, to monitor the progress of decision implementation and assess what has been accomplished in this regard. It clarified that the committee reviewed the steps taken regarding the implementation of decisions and ways to accelerate the pace of their completion, in order to achieve the desired objectives and aspirations.
On another note, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi praised the efforts undertaken by the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) and the distinctive development initiatives and programs it provides in several fields, emphasizing the importance of the role played by the program in supporting development pathways and strengthening development partnerships at both the regional and international levels.
The GCC General Secretariat stated in a press release that this came during Al-Budaiwi’s reception of Hammad Jarid, Executive Director of AGFUND, at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh, where the program’s objectives, efforts, and development contributions in various fields were reviewed.
The release added that the two sides discussed areas of cooperation between the GCC and AGFUND and ways to develop them, contributing to the exchange of expertise and experiences in areas of mutual interest and enhancing efforts aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in GCC member states.
