Mustafa Qamar Returns with "Qamar Qamarayn"

Artist Mustafa Qamar released his latest music video, “Qamar Qamarayn” (Moon, Two Moons), via his official Instagram account, paving the way for the full work, which offers a distinct experience blending music, drama, and fantasy. Running for approximately 13 minutes, the project takes the form of a short film, incorporating artificial intelligence and graphic techniques.

“Qamar Qamarayn” belongs to the Spanish musical genre, a style Mustafa previously explored during his career and achieved success with, now returning to it with a more advanced musical and visual vision. The song features music composed by Fares Fahmy and arrangement by Karim Abdel Wahab, who spent considerable time working on the score to align with the video’s unconventional concept.

The video’s narrative unfolds within a fictional dramatic framework inspired by the atmosphere of the 16th century, specifically the era associated with witch tales, trials, and burnings. Through this setting, Mustafa Qamar embarks on a journey across various eras and timelines. According to Foshia, the story begins with Mustafa entering a mysterious world through a crystal that suddenly shatters, transporting him to another time. As the plot unfolds, he transforms into a werewolf, weaving together fantasy, adventure, and imagination, and offering a visual treatment distinct from traditional music videos.

Shooting and editing “Qamar Qamarayn” took about three months, due to the density of visual details, the multiplicity of scenes, and the time required for musical and conceptual preparation. The video relies on a range of visual effects, graphic techniques, and artificial intelligence to support its fictional world and enhance the cinematic tone of the story.

The video features actor Salah Abdullah, who narrates the story, adding a dramatic dimension through his voice and presence, thereby strengthening the narrative-driven cinematic aspect. Screenwriter and poet Dr. Madhat Adel also participates by writing the story’s narration, in a collaboration that unites music, drama, and literature.
