Al-Watani Contributes 1 Million Dinars to Restore and Rehabilitate the State's Land Border Crossings

In line with its commitment to strengthening national partnerships with government entities and supporting state institutions in implementing their vital projects, Essam Al-Saqqa, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NBK Group, visited the Ministry of Interior, where he met with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef.
During the meeting, NBK announced a financial contribution of one million Kuwaiti dinars for the restoration and rehabilitation of the country’s land border crossings, including the Abdali, Salwa, and Nuwaybisah crossings. This initiative supports government efforts to develop the infrastructure of these crossings and enhance their readiness.
This contribution reflects NBK’s deep sense of national responsibility and its dedication to safeguarding the nation’s assets. It underscores that the role of national institutions extends beyond supporting the economy, encompassing active participation in enhancing the readiness of strategic facilities and backing state efforts under all circumstances.

It is worth noting that the Council of Ministers, in its meeting No. (32/2026) - (118) held on the 18th of this month, approved the Ministry of Interior’s request to accept NBK’s contribution of one million dinars to support the restoration and rehabilitation of the country’s land border crossings.
This initiative is part of a continuous series of strategic contributions made by the bank to vital sectors in the country. Most recently, NBK contributed 1.3 million dinars to develop facilities at Kuwait International Airport and enhance its operational readiness as a sovereign gateway for the state. Additionally, the bank donated five million US dollars to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, managed by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, reinforcing its leading role in supporting government efforts to address crises and exceptional situations efficiently and flexibly.
