Saudi Arabia: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman pays a state visit to France

The Saudi Royal Court announced that His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is traveling to France on a state visit. In a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Royal Court said: “In accordance with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and in response to an invitation extended by the President of the French Republic, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, departed on Friday, 8 Rabi’ al-Thani 1448 AH, corresponding to August 21, 2026, en route to France for a state visit.”

For its part, the French Presidency (the Élysée) announced that the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, to Paris would be accompanied by the signing of “a large number of agreements,” and would reflect “the enduring and continuous nature of French-Saudi relations in the context of regional tensions.” The Élysée clarified that “matters are still under discussion regarding certain projects, but many economic agreements will be signed across various sectors,” specifically highlighting the transport, energy, and health sectors. The Élysée also noted that President Emmanuel Macron “will strive to encourage increased Saudi investment in France.”
