Ministry of Higher Education: Coordination for students with equivalent certificates, STEM, and Nile certificates begins on the 24th

Cairo - Ahmed Sabri: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the start of the admission phase for students holding equivalent secondary certificates (Arabic and foreign), as well as students from the Science and Technology Schools for the Gifted (STEM) and Nile Schools, to enroll in public universities and institutes for the 2026-2027 academic year, effective August 24. This follows the rules and regulations approved by the Supreme Council of Universities and the ministerial decisions governing the work of the Coordination Office for Admission to Universities and Institutes.

In a statement issued yesterday, the ministry confirmed the application of geographic distribution rules for students holding Egyptian equivalent secondary certificates (STEM and Nile Schools), as well as Arabic and foreign certificates, similar to Egyptian general secondary school students, based on the student’s place of residence in Egypt, as recorded on the National ID card issued before June 1 of the application year, with the cancellation of any previous exemptions.

The ministry noted that the process of registering data, grades, and preferences will be available starting Monday, August 24, through the electronic coordination website, operating 24 hours a day until the end of the phase. Students can also register through computer labs at universities daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The ministry emphasized the necessity for students to print the preference form, basic data, and a statement of subjects studied and grades achieved, and to include them in their document files. Students must also visit the main office or one of its branches to submit original certificates and documents, as electronic registration alone is not sufficient. Failure to submit original documents will result in the student’s exclusion from the nomination lists, and admission will only be granted within the limits of remaining available places.
