Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs: Transparency and equal opportunity are the foundation for selecting oversight officials
Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, Social Development, and Family Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaili, affirmed that the selection of candidates for cooperative supervisory positions is based on an integrated process grounded in competence, merit, transparency, and equal opportunity.
This statement was made by Minister Al-Huwaili in an interview with KUNA on the occasion of the launch of examinations for applicants vying for 90 financial and administrative inspector positions in the cooperative sector, with 720 male and female citizens participating. This initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to attract national talent and strengthen the oversight system for cooperative societies.
Al-Huwaili noted that the advertised positions include 30 financial inspector roles and 60 administrative inspector roles, emphasizing the ministry’s commitment to selecting qualified national personnel capable of fulfilling supervisory responsibilities and contributing to safeguarding cooperative funds and enhancing financial and administrative performance efficiency.
She clarified that the examinations were prepared and implemented in collaboration with the American University in Kuwait, thereby helping to apply objective standards for measuring the professional and academic competence of applicants, and reinforcing the integrity and credibility of the selection procedures.
She mentioned that the examinations were held in two sessions, morning and evening, under comprehensive administrative and technical organization. She explained that the exams are monitored via cameras and documented visually, with established supervisory procedures applied to ensure discipline and provide equal opportunities for all applicants.
Al-Huwaili indicated that passing the examination requires achieving a score of no less than 80% to advance to the personal interview stage before the specialized committee within the ministry. She added that the interview accounts for 10% of the final evaluation, allowing for a comprehensive assessment of the candidates’ academic and professional aspects.
In this regard, she stressed that the ministry will spare no effort in developing cooperative oversight tools and empowering qualified national talent. She noted that financial and administrative inspectors play a pivotal role in monitoring cooperative societies’ compliance with governing laws and regulations, identifying observations, and addressing them to safeguard shareholders’ rights.
In the same context, Al-Huwaili pointed out that this step falls within the ministry’s plan to develop the cooperative sector and complete the policy of Kuwaitization, building a more efficient and effective supervisory apparatus that aligns with the state’s directions toward improving government performance and enhancing governance and integrity.
She expressed her best wishes for success to all applicants, affirming that the examination results and subsequent procedures will be subject to the announced controls and standards without exception, and that selection will be based on competence and merit, ensuring the choice of the best national candidates.
