Rasha Abdel Al appointed head of the Egyptian Tax Authority for a one-year term

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, issued Decision No. 2556 of 2026 appointing Rasha Abdel Aal Hassan as Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority at the Distinguished Functional Level within the Ministry of Finance, for a term of one year. The decision comes as part of continued efforts to develop the operational framework of the Egyptian Tax Authority, enhance the level of tax services provided to taxpayers, and advance the ongoing process of development, digitalization, and tax reform, thereby contributing to supporting the national economy and achieving the state’s objectives.
Notably, Rasha Abdel Aal is the first woman to hold the position of Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority. She possesses extensive and accumulated experience in the field of tax work, having progressed through several leadership roles within the Authority. Throughout her career, she contributed to implementing numerous development and modernization projects for the tax system. She previously served as Deputy Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority, Director General of the General Administration for Research on Exemptions for International, Regional, and Diplomatic Organizations, Head of the Risk Unit and Computer Systems Audit, Head of the Central Strategic Administration, and Deputy Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority.
