Salam reviews the situation in the Middle East with its president: The government will not relax the application of public safety and aviation standards

Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam affirmed that “the government gives top priority to airport security and air navigation safety, and is closely monitoring the implementation of decisions and measures taken to address risk sources within the airport premises and its surrounding area, particularly by limiting the risk of bird concentrations, addressing their attractants, cleaning the course of the Ghadir River and the airport’s vicinity, and taking necessary action against farms and slaughterhouses located within the zone defined by a Cabinet decision.”

During a review of the situation of Middle East Airlines and air traffic at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, compared with previous years, as well as measures related to aviation security and safety, Salam, alongside the company’s chairman of the board, Muhammad al-Hout, stressed that “the government will not tolerate any compromise in applying public safety and aviation safety standards, and that the relevant ministries, agencies, and departments will continue to implement and monitor on the ground the prescribed measures, ensuring the safety of air navigation and the regularity of operations at the airport.”
