Fight in Kuwait's vegetable market over high prices ends with deportation of expatriates
Ahmad Khamis: Al-Jahra security officers referred Asian expatriates to the Administrative Deportation Department following a fight with a Kuwaiti national inside a vegetable market. According to a security source, a Kuwaiti citizen reported the incident to the Ministry of Interior’s operations center, stating that while purchasing vegetables and fruits at the market, he got into a verbal altercation with a vendor over high prices, before being surprised by an attack and beating by the vendor and another individual. Security personnel immediately arrived at the scene, detained the expatriates, and instructed the complainant to visit the police station to record his statement. During the investigation, the expatriates claimed they were beaten by the Kuwaiti national, but inquiries and investigations confirmed the falsity of their claims, leading to legal action against them and their referral to the Administrative Deportation Department. This comes as part of the measures taken by the Ministry of Interior against expatriates found involved in altercations and offenses warranting administrative deportation.
