Director General Accuses Inspector of Insulting and Beating Him at Workplace
Ahmad Khamis: The Ministry of Interior’s authorities have opened an investigation into a report accusing an employee of assaulting a public official at his workplace, by listening to statements from the complainant and the accused. Meanwhile, the victim has insisted on rejecting any settlement or internal investigation conducted by his employing authority, and remains committed to pursuing legal action against the accused, especially since the incident occurred in front of several witnesses and caused him harm. According to a security source, a general manager at a government entity filed a report stating that an inspector working in the same sector entered his office after being summoned to discuss a work-related matter. However, the discussion escalated, according to his statement, into the inspector directing inappropriate abusive language toward him and attempting to assault him physically, which was prevented by the intervention of several administrative staff members. The source added that security officers summoned the inspector to hear his account, in which he denied insulting the general manager, insisting that their conversation did not include any abusive or offensive remarks. Competent authorities are continuing their investigation to ascertain the circumstances of the incident and the testimonies of witnesses.
