Search for 5 unknowns who stabbed a citizen before Maghrib prayer in Al-Raqqa

Ahmad Khamis: Investigators from the Ahmadi Criminal Investigation Department have launched a search for five unidentified individuals, accused by a citizen of assaulting and stabbing him after he left the evening prayer near a mosque in the Al-Raqqa area, insisting that he does not know any of them.

According to the victim, a man in his thirties, one of the suspects engaged him in a verbal altercation before the others restrained him, beat him, and then stabbed him, after which they fled the scene.

The victim submitted a medical report attached to the case file, which detailed multiple stab wounds, including injuries to his left hand and others on his right side, as well as a fracture of the posterior aspect of the right eighth rib. He underwent surgery to stop bleeding resulting from the injuries.

The case was registered as a felony, and the Public Prosecution was notified. The Deputy Public Prosecutor directed the registration of the case and tasked investigators with conducting necessary inquiries to identify the assailants, apprehend them, and determine the motives and circumstances of the incident. It remains unknown whether other individuals were present at the crime scene.

A security source confirmed that apprehending the suspects would reveal the true motive behind the assault and whether the incident was linked to an attempted robbery or occurred for other reasons. He noted that investigations would focus on identifying the suspects, tracking them down, and taking their statements regarding the case.
