The Summer Book Fair organized by the Graduates Association 2026 kicked off two days ago in its ninth edition, under the theme “A Renewed Journey Toward Reading.” The event features the participation of the Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Saqer Center for Technology and Innovation, more than 20 publishing houses, scientific and cultural institutions, libraries, cultural associations, and private universities. It is attended by Tunisian Ambassador to Kuwait Mohamed Karim Bouddali, Graduates Association President Ibrahim Al-Mulifi, and several cultural figures.
Speaking about his center’s participation, Dr. Saud Al-Anzi, Executive Director of the Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Saqer Center for Technology and Innovation, stated that the center’s involvement in the ninth edition of the Graduates Association’s Summer Book Fair represents an important opportunity to promote its training and youth qualification services. The fair allows for direct interaction with the public, answering inquiries from those interested in enrolling in training courses, as well as scheduling appointments for individuals wishing to benefit from the center’s programs.
Al-Anzi praised the Graduates Association’s efforts in attracting the largest possible number of libraries and participating entities. He emphasized that what distinguishes the fair is the quality of its participants and the diversity of their publications, noting that participating publishers have made a point of presenting their latest releases. Consequently, the fair offers visitors a wide range of books covering literature, novels, politics, sociology, economics, and other fields, providing readers with ample opportunities to explore publications that match their interests and knowledge needs.
Al-Anzi pointed out that holding the fair during the summer season gives it special significance as a cultural event eagerly anticipated by book lovers, particularly since the annual Kuwait International Book Fair takes place in November. He clarified that the Graduates Association’s Summer Book Fair has become an additional opportunity for readers to discover and purchase new books during the summer months. The event attracts significant attendance over its five-day duration, with activities continuing until next Sunday, the 23rd of the current month.
For his part, Ibrahim Al-Mulifi, President of the Graduates Association, announced that the ninth edition of the 2026 Summer Book Fair has witnessed a record increase in the number of participants, including 20 publishing houses and various other entities. This underscores the success and importance of this cultural phenomenon, which offers the public a different cultural dimension to their summer holidays. Al-Mulifi welcomed visitors of all ages to the fair.
He affirmed the association’s commitment to introducing innovations in each edition, including the participation of the Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Saqer Center for Technology and Innovation, which provides young people with opportunities to discover their talents in innovation and development. Additionally, the presence of private universities aims to create a space for direct interaction between them and students interested in continuing their studies, away from electronic means and digital platforms. The fair runs for five consecutive days, including Friday and Saturday, to allow visitors to enjoy the artistic and cultural atmosphere over the weekend.
Al-Mulifi noted that the ninth edition of the fair includes, for the first time, a pavilion for visual arts and artistic workshops such as drawing and caricature, offering visitors a distinctive experience to learn and receive face painting in innovative and entertaining ways. He confirmed that the association remains open to continuous development and expanding participation in each edition, providing space for growth as the fair continues to expand.
