The Scientific Center Concludes Its Summer Programs for 2026

The Scientific Center, one of the centers under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, concluded its summer programs for 2026, following a season brimming with educational and training activities and experiments targeting children and youth. These programs contributed to developing their skills and enhancing their passion for science and learning within an interactive environment that combines knowledge with practical experience.

The success of the summer programs is a continuation of the Scientific Center’s long-standing journey and expertise, spanning over 26 years in science communication and the dissemination of scientific culture since its opening in 2000. The Center continues to fulfill its role in simplifying science and making it more accessible and interactive for various segments of society, in line with its mission as one of the centers under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, and its role in supporting knowledge and encouraging future generations to explore, learn, and innovate.

This year’s summer programs included the Scientific Summer Camp, the Summer Field Training Program, and the Volunteers Program. Each was designed to provide a comprehensive experience tailored to different age groups, contributing to the development of participants’ scientific, practical, and personal skills. The Scientific Summer Camp, which ran for ten weeks and targeted children aged 6 to 12, offered a diverse range of interactive scientific activities. These included experiments in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), alongside creative workshops, sports activities, and field trips, all of which fostered a spirit of exploration, experimentation, and teamwork among participants.

The Summer Field Training Program provided participants with the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the work environment at the Scientific Center and engage in practical experiences that helped develop their skills and acquire new expertise. This was achieved through participation in various tasks and activities, as well as direct interaction with the Center’s teams across different fields.

In line with the Scientific Center’s commitment to promoting a culture of volunteerism and social responsibility among youth, the Volunteers Program offered a practical experience that enabled participants to contribute to the Center’s activities and programs and interact with visitors. This helped them develop communication and teamwork skills, assume responsibility, and strengthen values of initiative, generosity, and community service.

The Director General of the Scientific Center, Eng. Muaid Al-Yasin, stated: “We believe that investing in children and youth is an investment in Kuwait’s future. Therefore, we strive to ensure that our summer programs transcend the concept of seasonal activities, becoming comprehensive educational and practical experiences that allow participants to explore, learn, and develop their skills in an environment that fosters creativity and innovation.”

Al-Yasin added: “The enthusiasm and engagement we witnessed among participants in the Scientific Summer Camp, the Field Training Program, and the Volunteers Program this summer reflect the importance of providing spaces that offer future generations the opportunity to learn through experience and practice. We are also proud of the role played by the Center’s teams in sharing their expertise and knowledge with participants, and in reinforcing values of responsibility, teamwork, and initiative.”
