Abdulkarim Al-Abdullah: Al-Anbaa learned from health sources that the Ministry of Health has allocated 12.5 million dinars for excellence awards. In the same context, Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi delegated the task of disbursing the 2025 excellence awards to all employees nominated by their respective departments within the ministry to the Deputy Minister, Sheikh Dr. Salman Al-Sabah, in accordance with the stipulated controls and conditions.
The awards are distributed to Ministry of Health employees according to their job titles, as outlined in the Civil Service Bureau’s salary table, as follows:
- Doctors, consultants, and department directors: 1,500 dinars.
- Pharmacists, technicians, and inspectors: 1,300 dinars.
- Section heads and nursing staff: 1,000 dinars.
- Administrative employees: 800 dinars.
- Auxiliary and technical support positions: 400 dinars.
The controls and conditions, published by Al-Anbaa, stipulate that the nominated employee must have at least one calendar year of service within the Ministry of Health, starting from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025. Additionally, the employee must have received an “excellent” rating for the year 2025, must not have been subject to any disciplinary penalty during 2025 unless it has been expunged, and must not have exceeded 15 days of sick leave in 2025 (excluding hospitalization), nor have they compensated for such leave using their annual leave balance.
Health Minister Delegates Disbursement of Excellence Awards, Ranging from 400 to 1,500 Dinars Based on Job Titles
12.5 Million Dinars for Excellence Awards at the Ministry of Health
Al-Anbaa learned from health sources that the Ministry of Health has allocated 12.5 million dinars for excellence awards. In the same context, Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi delegated the Deputy Minister to disburse the 2025 excellence awards to all employees nominated by their respective departments within the ministry, in accordance with the stipulated controls and conditions.
The controls and conditions, published by Al-Anbaa, stipulate that the nominated employee must have at least one calendar year of service within the Ministry of Health, from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.
The conditions further require that the employee must have received an “excellent” rating for 2025, must not have been subject to any disciplinary penalty during 2025 unless it has been expunged, and must not have exceeded 15 days of sick leave in 2025 (excluding hospitalization), nor have they compensated for such leave using their annual leave balance.
The controls also stipulate that the employee must be appointed under the General Salary Table or appointed with salaries according to this table. The actual duration of work performed during the calendar year must meet the following requirements:
- 70% of the number of shift days for employees working under the shift system, according to their respective shift schedules.
- 180 actual working days for all other categories.
The controls specify that the actual duration of work shall be calculated after excluding periods of suspension, secondment, full-time dedication of any kind, missions, and leaves of any type or duration, as well as official holidays, makeup days, and rest days, except for sick leave taken during hospitalization only.
The controls also include the requirement for employees to activate the smart fingerprint attendance system during official working hours, as well as the obligation for employees to update their job data on the Ministry of Health website (the official website for data updates and the employee self-service program for academic credential registration “ESS”).
The regulations stipulate that employees must hold a valid electronic license to practice medicine or its auxiliary professions. The regulations further emphasize that the Ministry’s employing entities must adhere to the aforementioned guidelines, each according to its respective responsibilities, when preparing lists of bonus-eligible staff. The regulations confirmed that the awarded bonus will be granted in accordance with the Civil Service Bureau’s schedule designated for the Ministry of Health, which sets the maximum bonus categories; however, bonuses may also be awarded in lower categories.
Moreover, excellence bonuses for Ministry of Health employees, based on job titles and in line with the Civil Service Bureau’s schedule (with the possibility of awarding lower categories), are as follows:
- Physicians, consultants, and department directors: 1,500 dinars.
- Pharmacists, technicians, and inspectors: 1,300 dinars.
- Section heads and nursing staff: 1,000 dinars.
- Administrative staff: 800 dinars.
- Auxiliary and technical support positions: 400 dinars.
