Nader to Al-Anba': Salmiya aims to compete for the league title

Hadi Al-Anazi, an administrator of the Al-Salmiya Club’s first football team, affirmed that “Al-Samawi” (The Sky Blues) is ready to compete for the league title in the 2026-2027 football season, despite the difficulty of the competition. He told Al-Anbaa: “We have prepared our squad in the best possible way, following local preparations and an external training camp in Turkey, where we played several important friendly matches, concluding with a local friendly against Al-Jahra (yesterday). This completed the preparatory program designed by the technical staff, led by Bahraini coach Ali Ashour, to perfection. We hope to deliver our best performances in the first three league rounds, before the break.”
The Zain League Premier Division kicks off in its first round on the 25th and 26th of this month. Al-Salmiya will face Al-Nasr in their first match of the country’s longest-running league competition. In their second match, “Al-Samawi” will travel to play Al-Tadamun, while they will host the runner-up from the First Division League on September 5.
Nadir noted that Al-Salmiya is not suffering from any injuries in its squad, praising the high morale shown by the players during daily training sessions and their strong commitment to the instructions of both the technical and administrative staff. He expressed hope for success for all clubs in the upcoming football season.
