Minister of “Social Affairs”: Continue developing the cooperative work system and enhancing governance and oversight

Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, Social Development, and Family Affairs, held discussions with Mariam Al-Awad, President of the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies, on a number of financial, administrative, and regulatory matters pertaining to the Union and its cooperative societies.
In a press statement following her visit to the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies, which was attended by Acting General Manager of the Union Faisal Al-Mutairi and Administrative Inspector Faiz Al-Majlad, Al-Huwail said she discussed the staffing structure and organizational framework of the cooperative societies, as well as employment contracts, and worked on solutions for unratified contracts.
She added that she also addressed the issue of dual employment in more than one cooperative society by implementing automated linking among all societies, thereby enhancing oversight and preventing duplication. She emphasized the importance of immediately Kuwaitizing the position of supply branch manager, supporting national staff, and empowering them.
Al-Huwail stressed the need to continue developing the cooperative work system, strengthening governance and oversight, and addressing administrative and financial observations to ensure improved efficiency across various cooperative societies.
She noted that she reaffirmed during the meeting the importance of implementing a fingerprint attendance system for all employees, which would enhance workplace discipline and boost performance efficiency within the cooperative work system.
