Sisi reaffirms Egypt's supportive and backing stance towards the security of Qatar and all Arab countries, and its complete rejection of any infringement on their sovereignty and stability

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two countries to implement the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The Egyptian presidential spokesperson, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, stated in a press release that this discussion took place during President al-Sisi’s reception of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman during his visit to Cairo.

He noted that President al-Sisi emphasized the importance of containing the current regional escalation, taking into account its repercussions on regional stability, as well as its economic and trade impacts. In this context, he highlighted the strenuous efforts Egypt is making to de-escalate the current situation.

In this regard, President al-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s supportive and backing stance toward the security of Qatar, the sister state, and all Arab countries, and its firm rejection of any attempts to undermine their sovereignty and stability.

The presidential spokesperson said the meeting underscored the necessity for all parties to fulfill their commitments under the plan proposed by US President Donald Trump to halt the war, thereby consolidating stability and contributing to the swift commencement of early recovery and reconstruction efforts. It also stressed the need to enhance the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Both sides agreed to continue coordination between the two brotherly countries in connection with implementing the ceasefire agreement and to preserve regional peace and stability in general.

On the level of bilateral relations, President al-Sisi praised the progress and growth witnessed in bilateral ties between the two countries, expressing his aspiration to continue enhancing these relations across various political, commercial, and investment sectors, including by building on the outcomes of the Egyptian-Qatari Joint High Committee to elevate bilateral cooperation in various fields.
