Presidential Decree Grants "Al-Suwaidah" Students an Exceptional Session for Basic and Secondary General Education Examinations

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued a presidential decree granting students from the As-Suwayda governorate an exceptional opportunity to sit for the Basic Education Certificate and General Secondary Education Certificate examinations, across all their branches, under the same rules and conditions established for these exams.

According to the Syrian official news agency SANA, the decree, numbered 163 of 2026, specified in its second article that its provisions benefit “students from As-Suwayda governorate who did not register for the 2026 examination session, or who were unable to take all the exam subjects in that session.”

The decree further noted that the executive instructions necessary to implement its provisions would be issued by a decision of the Minister of Education.
