Iraqi woman surrenders her Kuwaiti husband, a pistol, and walkie-talkies to Al-Jahra security: "I fear for my life and want to protect him from the consequences of possession!"

In a bizarre incident, an Iraqi migrant worker did not dispose of weapons inside her marital home by throwing them in the trash or in a wilderness area to shield her husband from legal accountability. Instead, she handed them over to Al-Jahra security forces after reporting that he was keeping a pistol and two air guns inside the house. She justified her report by citing her fear for her life and her desire to protect her husband from the legal consequences of possessing unlicensed weapons.

A security source told Al-Anbaa that the Ministry of Interior’s operations received a report a few days ago from an Iraqi migrant worker, stating that her citizen husband was keeping weapons inside their home. She expressed her fear for her life due to the presence of these weapons, while simultaneously seeking to protect him from the repercussions of possessing them.

The source added that upon receiving the report, Al-Jahra security personnel, acting within their territorial jurisdiction, were instructed to proceed to the location. The wife greeted them and handed over a case containing a 9mm pistol, confirming that her husband was keeping other weapons inside the house.

He clarified that security forces contacted the Deputy Public Prosecutor, who directed them to take the necessary legal measures to seize any other weapons inside the home and to apprehend the husband. Security forces, with the wife’s assistance, conducted a search of the house, which resulted in the discovery of two air guns.

The source noted that security personnel waited for the husband’s return from work. As soon as he arrived home, he was surprised to see security officers escorting him to the police station to prepare a case against him and refer him to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. His reaction to his wife’s decision to report him and hand him over to the authorities remained unclear.
