Monaco terminates Pogba's contract due to injuries
French club Monaco announced that it will terminate the contract of midfielder Paul Pogba, a former player of Manchester United and Italy’s Juventus, following a series of injuries. Pogba, 33, won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France, but since the end of his suspension due to a doping case, he has struggled to regain his form. Monaco stated in a press release that the objectives set with Pogba “have only been partially achieved,” and therefore decided to end his contract, which was set to run until June 2027. Pogba is currently sidelined with a thigh injury, shortly after returning from a knee injury. Monaco praised the player’s “exceptional mentality, determination, and consistently high standards,” confirming that even during his injury periods, he had a positive impact on the team by “sharing his experience and knowledge” with his teammates.
