"Hand of the Juniors" Meets Syria in the "Asian" Today

Our national junior handball team begins its campaign in the 11th Asian Championship (World Cup qualifiers) with a match against the Syrian national team at 2:00 PM today at the Princess Sumaya Sports Hall in Jordan, as part of Group 2, which also includes Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Iran.

The team is represented by: Abdulhadi Mohammed, Hussein Al-Astad, Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Mohammed Al-Farhan, Mohammed Faisal, Faisal Ismail, Hussein Sami, Bader Saad, Mohammed Salmeen, Abdulmohsen Al-Hathloul, Abdullah Eid, Zaid Al-Otaibi, Omar Madouh, Mohammed Abdullah, Mohammed Al-Hajeri, Salem Fawaz, and Ali Madouh.

The technical staff is led by Icelandic coach Stefan Arnason and national coach Khaled Al-Mulla.

Meanwhile, team manager Shaker Artie confirmed that everyone has doubled their efforts during both local and foreign preparation periods, praising the players’ commitment to daily training and their ability to translate the directives of the administrative and technical staff both on and off the court. He added that opening matches are always challenging, but the team has confidence in the players’ abilities and potential to achieve the desired results, emphasizing their commitment to representing Kuwaiti handball in the best possible light.

On another note, in light of the Kuwait Handball Federation’s preparations for the upcoming season, board member and head of the federation’s media committee, Meshal Al-Qabandi, stated that a coordination meeting with club game directors featured a fruitful discussion on the main positives and negatives of the past season, along with the presentation of several proposals aimed at developing handball competitions and enhancing the level of operations during the upcoming sports season.

Al-Qabandi said the federation is keen to listen to the views and proposals of clubs, considering them a key partner in the development of the sport. He noted that the meeting addressed several observations related to organizational and technical aspects, paving the way for their review by the federation’s various committees.

He pointed out that the next phase will witness increased coordination and joint efforts between the federation and the clubs, reaffirming that the goal is to develop Kuwaiti handball and elevate the standard of competitions and national teams.
